I can get it to work in Reaper (with score exported from Sibelius). Yeah, that is the trick, using shorter phrases or sentences.

Ultimately using a sequencer is easier I think…recording parts to audio as much as possible.

It’s certainly a lot of work though… Dominus Choir Pro is $650 right now, so it’s also not cheap. It does sound great and I did start a project recently where I managed to combine both choirs successfully. Dominus is also mainly focused on Latin, and although you can approximate English words with their range of syllables, not all required syllables for English are present. Hopefully this will be added in the future. Unfortunately the main legato mode of Dominus which is really incredible, will not work at present because there is no tempo sync functionality in Dorico. You can trigger the chains of syllables with key switches which you can assign to a Playing Technique in Dorico. They employ a slightly different way of creating sentences which can also work well, but again, only with shorter pieces. I recently bought Fluffy Audio’s Dominus Choir Pro. Okay for a short piece, but impractical for a longer work. Therefore I have found that you have to have lots of fairly short sentences and use multiple instances of the PLAY VST. There is a reset CC that you can use to go back to the start of your sentence, but you certainly can’t just start playback from halfway through a sentence. It’s definitely a fiddly process using WB with Dorico. I had Yamaha’s Vocaloid years ago … and that was pretty bad imo. The human voice is just super difficult to emulate realistically.

The ‘fakeness factor’ is more apparent there. They use the same technology in “voices of soul”, which is three pop style vocalists. It helps if you try to learn the ‘votox’ language to program WB, and mitigate your expectations. The disadvantage is that you won’t mistake it for a real choir, some consonants and vowels sound pretty fake even with lots of tweaks. Wordbuilder is a unique program which allows you to have a choir sing whatever you want them to sing, in English / Latin / German, which is very cool.

Unlike the Dorico license which once moved to the dongle stays there, you can move the EW license from the iLok dongle back to a computer. The current generation is pretty small and inconspicuous (which also makes it easy to lose, for some people). If you go back and forth between two computers this is a bit tedious to do every time, I would recommend using the dongle. They use iLok copyright protection, but you don’t have to buy the dongle if you don’t want … you can activate the license on a computer. expression sometimes controls dynamics, sometimes expression (vibrato). I do agree that their VSTs are inconsistent across the board in that e.g. I’ve used EW products and Play for over a decade and never had any major issues, the Play engine is very stable for me.
